Lyft is an American ride-sharing company helping people get from A to B. In 2019, I worked on a strategic design project exploring how Lyft could enter the Australian market by better understanding local attitudes towards carpooling. The goal was to develop a detailed profile of the average Australian passenger and design a strategy for a new carpool service tailored to modern millennials. The ambition was to position Lyft as the first autonomous carpool service on Australian roads, and my role focused on providing a well-informed design strategy to guide a competitive market entry.
The question:
Would the possible introduction of self-driving cars give Lyft a competitive advantage in the Australian market especially with the presence of already established strong competitors like Uber?

The outcome:
A strategic design report that includes thorough market research, vision setting, design audit, identifying primary customers, lean business models, customer journey maps, service maps and blueprints in addition to suggested design solutions etc.
